The dying art of the movie poster.

I'm not sure about the film at the moment but I think this poster is fantastic. More and more studios are getting lazy with their posters and resort to just using the cast against a shitty back drop. More imagination should be put into promoting movies if people are worried cinema visits are dropping.

My HTML project.

Thank god I've been given a 4 week extension for this project. I have to design a web site and place a 360 frame stop motion animation on it. Now with this project the planning is all well and good and pretty interesting but when it comes to actually creating it, fuck me its boring. Not only is doing the mark up for the site very boring and repetitive but when I actually start my film I can't imagine how bad that will be. For those who don't know stop motion is the kind of thing they use to make "Wallace and Gromit" and the like. Mine has to be done using photographs as I'm doing it on my 12 inch stormtrooper coming to life. The scene with the blaster rifle bolt will take the piss as it will include a lot of work in photoshop moving the bolt a couple of mm each frame for about 30 photographs.

Updates to come!

I knew it!

I wish I was wrong about it but it looks like I wasn't. Marvel have just put out this variant cover to issue 7 of "Punisher: War Journal". Frank Castle is the new Captain America!

Spidey 3

Aint it cool have posted some pics from Spider-man 3 and this is one of them. I wasn't sure about using Venom up until now but this looks like they could actually pull it off. (Original picture was removed but the bottom left concept drawing is very similar)

Ouch!

Woke up this morning feeling like I had been repeatedly punched in the neck. I keep getting these terrible pains/cramps in my neck and it has to be the most painful thing ever. This coming from the guy who broke his wrist in two places and has been run over twice. My housemate is such a fucker he thought it was funny so he insisted on trying to make me laugh all day as this bought on the cramps/pain. Someone tells me I may have pinched a nerve. I found this on it:

"The term pinched nerve describes one type of damage or injury to a nerve or set of nerves. The injury may result from compression, constriction, or stretching. Symptoms include numbness, "pins and needles" or burning sensations, and pain radiating outward from the injured area. One of the most common examples of a single compressed nerve is the feeling of having a foot or hand "fall asleep." Pinched nerves can sometimes lead to other conditions such as peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tennis elbow. The extent of such injuries may vary from minor, temporary damage to a more permanent condition. Early diagnosis is important to prevent further damage or complications. Pinched nerve is a common cause of on-the-job injury."

Its much goddamn worse than pins and needles I can tell you that. Weren't up to uni so I just stayed in and started watching the fifth season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and I have to say it just doesn't get boring, its still as funny as ever. I'm going to watch a few more episodes then have an early night. Work tomorrow I just hope my neck feels better otherwise I am truly fucked.

So Tired...

As you can see I didn't post again last night this is due to the fact that I fell asleep at the computer at around 6am. I got quite a bit done though but it meant I only had around 3 hours sleep before my presentation. We explained our idea for our studio piece and I have to say I'm impressed on how well I blagged it. We dragged it out to around 10 minutes and we hadn't even had a practice. The tutor gave us our feedback on which she had wrote "well prepared"!

I am knackered though now and I have to be up for around 7:30 tomorrow for work. Hopefully the N&C Audio/Visual club are going to see "A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints". More on that tomorrow if we do.

Time for a bit more "Shield" now though I think.

Tatty Bye Bye.

Face Melting? Yes Please!

Contender for film of the year? Not too sure yet but definitely one for film of the month.

Me, Last Minute? Never!

Its 2:33 in the am and I'm still preparing for a presentation that I have tomorrow at 11 o' clock. I'm sure its only two minutes long but a) theres rumours its 2o minutes long and b)I can use this as an excuse to push me to get quite a bit of work done.

Let you know when I'm done...
